Stage 1 of 3024′s West Country takeover arrives in the shape of 3 brand new tracks from Bristol’s flame haired house prodigy Julio Bashmore.
The last 18 months have witnessed a wave of new producers focusing on the many stages of house music’s evolution for inspiration, with Senor Bashmore one of the leading lights on account of his deep immersion in the sound. 3024 are glowing with transcontinental pride as we present the below for your listening pleasure.
Batty Knee Dance kicks things off by bringing together ultra syncopated 808′s, neurotic synths and a mournful vocal refrain in a tightly packaged low drag configuration that emphasises relentlessly ratcheting tension and chatterring synthetic percussion. Ribble To Amazon maintains the same level of 808 sorcery but heads for the great outdoors. Built on a battery of intricately layered drones and Star Trak-esque snares, subtly staggered pads and an impossibly weightless melody bask in a 16:9 sunset of epic proportions.
Exclusive to the digital Grand National winds proceedings down with a distinct change in mood and pace. Wistful synth trumpets offer a bedraggled rallying cry to the lights up crew and a rhythmic strut perfectly aligned with the greatest roller disco ever propels things along at a restrained trot. The final flourish is provided by a litany of equine titans, including Devon Loch, Thirty-Thirty & the reclusive Shergar.
